Why Scifi?

I am a man who recently rediscovered science fiction as reader and a writer. I had been a fan for most of my life, and even took a stab at writing a novel in high school (which I did finish although it was terrible). After an aborted attempt to become an academic, I left graduate school, and, disoriented and confused, I turned to old anchor: science fiction. First I started rewriting my old sci-fi novel, and now have begun writing short stories to submit to sci-fi magazines. However, one of my biggest problems was finding good science fiction, and despite some other excellent reviewing sites, I felt there was something lacking. How could I determine if a work was worth the time? I was left with one answer: I had to sit and read it–but I thought perhaps others could benefit from my pleasure reading a good novel and my pain reading a bad one.
Since I was reading the books anyway, and always had plenty to say about it, I figured I would give myself a forum of personal expression and create resources for people looking for good science fiction. Thus, Scifihunter.com was born. Thank you again for visiting.
